Considering My Field
Earlier this year, a friend of mine got me interested in Poshmark.
I started listing things from our closet.
Next I found myself buying things specifically to resell. I was really enjoying it!
I thought, "Why not buy a few dresses that I like and resell them?"
But I know how I am at sales. I am seriously the WORST sales person EVER!
Like, I can not even get people to take things for free.
I once tried getting people to sign up to a clothing site - they would get $15 credit and I would get $15...ONE person signed up. Yeah, so, we know how that would go.
Then again, I was really enjoying selling on Poshmark.
I couldn't get it off my mind.
The Lord kept bringing Proverbs 31:16 to my mind,
"She considereth a field, and buyeth it:
with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard."
I finally mentioned it to my husband thinking he would say no. I was surprised when he not only said yes, but encouraged me to do more than what I had planned! Okay. He DID mention my sales record once. ;)
I called our tax man and asked what I'd need to paperwork. He helped me get my EIN and I thought that was it! Boy, was I in for a surprise! I sent out a text to a friend and told her I had started my business...then found out I needed to file papers all over the place. haha
I looked like a total clueless blonde. As a security guard was walking me back to one place, he asked what type of business I was starting. Then said, "Well, hope that works out for you!"
On the way back from filing the last papers, I had this sinking feeling. I thought, "What did I just do? I am SO busy as it is! I'm a wife, homeschooling mom to 6, a very active Pastor's wife...as if I have time for this! I am CRAZY!"
I felt sick to my stomach!
The adventure had begun!
